Physical Therapy

Chronic pain management, joint replacement recovery, balance and fall programs, ankle and foot pain, low back and neck pain, Sacroiliac (SI) pain, IT band/Hip/Thigh pain, knee pain, work injuries, and orthopedic injury recovery.

Occupational Therapy

Shoulder, elbow, hand dysfunctions, ADL support and cognitive and behavior intervention specialist. Our therapist is trained in customized splinting for carpal tunnel syndrome, scar tissue management, and strokes.

Personal Training

Individual and group programs created to support the client goals of an ongoing active lifestyle. Our trainers develop customized programs at whatever fitness level you are at and assist in gaining strength and function. Our trainers work side by side with the therapists to assist in continuing your program customized for your success.

Trisa Hutchinson

- Occupational Therapist

Trisa was born and raised in Detroit Lakes, MN, before attending North Dakota State University, where she earned her degree in Human Development and Family Science with a minor in Psychology. While at NDSU, she played on the Women’s Golf Team and had the opportunity to travel across the country for competition.

Driven by her passion for serving others, Trisa went on to earn her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from the University of Mary. After graduation, she established the satellite branch of Progressive Care Therapy inside Pelican Landing, where she continues to serve individuals both within the building and throughout the community.

Committed to providing the highest quality of care, Trisa has pursued advanced training as a Certified Dementia Practitioner, Certified Specialist in the Older Adult (through the Institute of Clinical Excellence), CrossFit Level I Trainer, and LSVT BIG Certified Clinician. Beyond her clinical work, Trisa travels nationwide as faculty for the Institute of Clinical Excellence, educating and training other physical and occupational therapists to better serve the aging population.

In her spare time, Trisa enjoys spending time with her fiancé, Jeremy, biking (both road and mountain), doing CrossFit, and relaxing at the lake with her family.

Joe Heinz

- Physical Therapist

Joe Heinz, DPT is a Physical Therapist with over 4 years of clinical experience. He joined Progressive Care in 2022. Joe studied exercise science and psychology at Concordia College and later earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Jamestown. Joe has high level experience in orthopedic care and geriatrics with a fitness forward focus. He has specialized skills in manual therapy, post operative orthopedic care, and return to activity progression. In his spare time, Joe is an assistant wrestling coach for Concordia College, a CrossFit Quarterfinalist, and an avid outdoorsman.

Marcie Peeters

- Physical Therapy Assistant

Marcie Peeters is a physical therapist assistant who has worked in a variety of settings for the 20 years she has been practicing physical therapy. Marcie has a passion for health and wellness, especially working with the geriatric population.  She sees value in providing patients with exercise knowledge and assisting them with gaining the ability to be able to complete meaningful daily tasks and hobbies. Marcie feels strongly about delivering care to patients in a manner that allows them to feel valued, reassured and comforted while learning their strengths.

Nicki Berg

- Physical Therapist

Nicki grew up in Moorhead, MN, but has spent much of her life in Detroit Lakes, enjoying weekends at her family’s lake cabin. After earning her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of North Dakota, she began her career as a physical therapist in Detroit Lakes and now proudly calls the community home. Nicki enjoys working with a wide range of patients, with a special passion for helping older adults restore function and maintain independence. In her free time, she loves reading, crafting, biking, hiking, gardening, and spending time outdoors or on the lake with family and friends.
